mixture control

mixture control
A control installed in a reciprocating engine–powered aircraft that allows variation of the fuel-air mixture ratio when the engine is running. It may be either manual control or automatic or a combination of both. When the combination is used, the pilot adjusts the mixture for a particular rating, and the automatic control maintains that ratio by compensating for temperature and pressure variations of the atmosphere.
